Doody dominates D2 race at Derryfield

At the Division 2 New Hampshire Divisional Championships on Saturday, Oyster River senior Maegan Doody churned out the fastest time of the day for girls in the 5,000-meter race at Derryfield Park, running 18 minutes, 06.0 seconds to capture first place.

 

In the D2 team race, Coe-Brown dominated, scoring 28 points, as five runners placed in the top 10. Hanover was second (92) and Souhegan was third.

 

In the boys D2 race, Patrick O'Brien of Oyster River ran 16:16.5 to win by almost 10 seconds. Coe-Brown scored 65 points to win the team championship. Oyster River was second (85) and Kennett was third (152).

 

In the Division 1 Championships, Jacqueline Gaughan of Exeter captured first place in 18 minutes and 19.6 seconds to win. Pinkerton won the team title with 30 points, placing five runners in the top 10. Bishop Guertin was second (116).

 

In the boys 5K D1 race, Liam Kimball of Timberlane duked it out with Nick Sevilla of Pinkerton for first. Kimball won in 15:52.0, while Sevilla was second in 15:52.8. Pinkerton boys scored 35 with all seven runners placing in the top 20.

 

In the Division 3 battle, Hopkinton senior Sarah Nadeau won the girls 5K race in 19:57.5. In the team race, Monadnock won with 79 points, placing four in the top 25.

 

In the boys 5K race, Cameron Daly ran the second fastest time of the day, 15:52.2 to win the title. Kearsarge beat out Mascenic Regional, 100-101 for the team title.
